Working Together
By working together, caring patients and our skilled professionals can provide each child at
Florida Club Care Center with the best quality of life attainable.
Because we understand the difficulty of parents face in making the decision to place their
much loved child in a controlled environment, our pediatric Social Workers are specially trained
to help. Social Services can assist in coordinating therapeutic home visits as well as discharge
planning to other facilities or to home. They are also available to listen and respond to parents'
concerns, which is particularly important during the stressful transition period.

Life at Florida Club Care Center
Our concern for the children living at the Florida Club Care Center's Pediatric Unit
encompasses much more than the medical care prescribed for each.
Florida Club Care Center's Pediatric Unit provides specially designed programs for young
residents throughout the year.
For instance, children will be taught by certified teachers of the handicapped, provided by
the state of Florida. A multisensory approach to learning is delivered through an
interdisciplinary/functional model.
Even therapy can be fun here: we have regular pet therapy sessions with loving and gentle
pets owned by staff members. The children love this program!
Volunteers often join us and provide extra "cuddle" sessions for the children. Our activities
staff provides special events throughout the year, making sure that our youthful residents
experience and celebrate holidays, and the changing seasons.
Florida Club Care Center's Pediatric Unit would welcome the opportunity to introduce you to
our staff and provide a tour of our cheerful, child-oriented wing. To arrange for a tour or for
additional information please call our Director of Admissions at 305-653-8427 ext. 311
